Red Cabbage Experiments
Acid or Base???
Last week we completed a series of experiments with the use of Red Cabbage.
We used this video to help us learn about Acids and Bases

We then prepared the Red cabbage and placed it in hot water to create an indicator AND a dye.
We experimented by adding lemon juice (an acid) and baking soda solution (A base) to establish if the colour of the red cabbage reacted by changing colour. An acid turns red and a base turns blue. We used the red cabbage solution to dye some white bags blue and lemon juice to add red colour.
