Airport lady

Spread the love

By Lynsey, 3rd year

In Dublin Airport, I spot an average size girl, with beautiful blonde hair, highlighted from the roots.  Her make-up is done to perfection with a strong blusher, just accentuating her cheekbones.  Her eyes are crystal blue with long black eyelashes.  She has a beauty spot on the right of her chin.  She is wearing a small black blazer with a gold leaf chain, a beautiful sparkling top just covering her mid-drift.  Her tight black wet-look leggings with rock belt complete her uber-cool look.  Her wedged boots with studded diamonds on the back of her heel set off her rock-chick ensemble.  She looked out of place in the airport, in her own dream world on this misty Dublin morning.

All of a sudden, she is interrupted by a small man.  This strange looking old man has a long beard , and he is followed by a small woman with short hair.  She looks confused.  As if she has been asked one hundred questions and is pondering the answers at the same time.

As quick as a bolt of lightning this unlikely couple disappear.

The blonde haired seems bemused by this interruption to her daydream.  A child brings her fully back to reality.  The child says ‘Hello Mam’.  This regular girl turns around to see who the child is talking to.  The little girl stands there looking at the young woman.  The girl must have been about eight years old, she open her arms and embraces the young woman.  At this stage, this woman has no clue what is going on.

She hears a woman cackle, it sounds evil, like a witch about to perform a spell.  The previous older woman appears and asks the child ‘Have you ran away again you silly little girl?’ There was a moment of unbelievable tension between the child and the older woman.  A tension you could cut with a knife if was that awful.

The young lady hurriedly asks the older adult to explain what is going on, ‘May you explain Madam’.  The croaky witch replies ‘Madam.  Where do you think you are? Buckingham Palace?’

The young woman returns to being confused with the whole situation, and tears stream down her face.  It was as if someone had just punched her in the arm  The old woman came up with a solution, a solution which would make no one happy but herself.

The old woman, strangely told the younger one, to take the child!  She said ‘I will leave and take the child or put a spell on you.’  The worried woman ran as fast as she could.  The old woman vanished completely.  Then when I saw the girl , the old woman appeared again.  The young woman halted from her escape and screamed, ‘What do you want?’ The old woman screamed back ‘Everything you have.’

I heard my sister calling me, ‘Lysney ? I looked at Chloe and looked back to the old woman, who had again vanished from sight.  I felt someone pushing me.  Thinking it was the woman, i grew frightened.  However, it was my sister Chloe.  She was afraid and we would the final call for our flight to Mexico.  We ran as fast as we could, and never saw the two women or the child again.
